Our Story, Their Future

In 2018, Our Place After School Care launched a first-of-its-kind program in Nebraska, designed specifically for teens with disabilities. Founded by Adeline Johnson, the mission was deeply personal. As a mother to a daughter with disabilities, Adeline wanted her child and others like her to experience the joy of socializing, the pride of earning a paycheck, and the dignity of learning independent living skills.

By November 2022, that mission took a bold new step. We opened Freedom Factory, a retail space where our teens and adults sell their handcrafted creations on commission. Here, productivity meets purpose. We are not just selling products. We are blazing a trail for inclusive communities and providing a vital service for families who care for people with disabilities.
